Jill was born in a Welsh seaside town and admits to enjoying far too happy a childhood to become a writer.
After taking jobs including Butlin Redcoat, airline receptionist, air stewardess and hotel receptionist, she settled into marriage and family life, combined with running a guest house in Wiltshire. She returned to Wales in 2001, taking a job as a minute taker with her local authority before gaining a place on the same MA Creative Writing course as Hazel Cushion. Jill began submitting stories to women’s magazines and anthologies, joined the Romantic Novelists’ Association, and has been hanging out with writers and readers ever since.
Now living in Newport, Gwent, she’s passionate about public libraries, enjoys joining in events and is immensely grateful to readers who buy and borrow her books.
Jill Barry is a multi-published author of mainly romantic novels, including a rom com for Accent Press. Writing as Toni Sands, she is also published by Xcite Books. Her next publication with Accent, The House Sitter, is scheduled for October release and is a psychological suspense novel with a tiny frisson of romance.
